My new Doid (the new precious...based on the novel "Pull" by Diamond)

Don't know why I waited so long to purchase a Motorola Droid. I wait my two years on so I could save $400 on the phone from Verizon.  I really love this phone....everything except the keyboard.  The flat keys are not quite big enough to use the meaty part of your fingers, at least for me.  I'm typing away using my short fingernails.  

Other than that, it is terrific. While I don't have an iPhone, I've got an iPod touch which is essentially the exact same thing.  Put google voice on it and it's the same.  Now my kids have them too so I can track them, and, we are all using Gmail, and, i've put 10G of MP3 files on it...and suddenly realized that Jobs paranoia is justified as I'm completely gone google from all Mac just 12 months ago.  Apple has two great consumer-oriented-technology leadership areas: electronic products and on-line digital media discovery/purchase.  Powerbooks, desktop computers, ipods, iphones...and iTunes.  Look out Apple, Google will let others put out beautiful products and amazon's music store will thrive.  Not to mention those "free" mp3 sources.
